Community Programme Specialist | Central City Hub


In this role, you’ll take the lead on designing, developing and delivering high-quality programmes and experiences in our library and community venues. You’ll be based primarily at Tāmaki Pātaka Kōrero - Auckland Central City Library and work closely with a diverse and dynamic team, programme partners and local communities to create compelling, inclusive activities that serve local needs and aspirations.

By fostering positive relationships, identifying innovative approaches to programming our places, and building partner capacity, you’ll help bring our Central City to life.

This is a role where you can lead with purpose, creativity and cultural integrity.

He kōrero mōu: About you


We’re looking for a creative and collaborative thinker with a proven track record leading and delivering exciting community-based initiatives. You’ll be comfortable navigating complexity, have strong organisational and project management skills, ability working cross-culturally with diverse communities, and have confidence in te reo Māori and tikanga practices or willingness to learn.


You’ll also have:


  • A relevant tertiary qualification and 5+ years’ experience in community development or programme delivery
  • Strong understanding of local iwi, Te Aranga design principles and community needs across Tāmaki Makaurau
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in project planning, innovation and financial oversight
  • Comfortable working with emerging digital technologies
  • Proven record of managing impactful social media campaigns and digital storytelling initiatives
  • Exhibition or curatorial experience

The band for this role is Band F with the budgeted salary range from $76,160-$89,600 depending on knowledge and experience.
