Mō te tūranga mahi | About the role
Our Corporate & Finance Group is dedicated to the delivery of Huakina te Rā, and our Finance function is well aligned to support these strategic priorities, with a focus on financial efficiency and effectiveness and sustainability of the Scheme.
The Head of Finance role is integral to the success of ACC and sits on the Corporate & Finance senior leadership team and is responsible for leading a breadth of specialist functions across ACC. This role has five direct reports and an overall team of approximately 150 encompassing Revenue and Operations, Finance Operations, Business Partnering, and Sustainability and Reporting.
The Head of Finance provides leadership to ensure the Finance function is meeting ACC’s operational compliance and reporting needs, supporting the organisation and its business groups in their accountabilities by providing insights and advice, and implementing ACC’s strategy through finance business planning and performance.
As a Tier 3 Enterprise Leader this role is expected to partner with the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE), Board, Executive and senior leaders across the organisation and with key external stakeholders.
This role reports to the DCE, Corporate & Finance, and is Wellington based.
The base salary range for this role is $215,206 - $303,820 with appointment depending on skills and experience. ACC also offers 9% superannuation on top of base salary.

We’re looking for an experienced Chartered Accountant with a significant background in senior financial leadership positions. You will have a proven track record of leading strategic and integrated finance functions within complex commercial settings.
Your strengths will include highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, commercial expertise, and the ability to influence as a leader at an enterprise level. You’ll demonstrate a commitment to applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in your leadership approach.
You’ll have excellent interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills and the ability to influence and collaborate successfully with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll bring a natural curiosity for identifying and driving better ways of working and you’ll thrive on the opportunity to lead a large team through a changing workload and support a high-performance culture.
