We are seeking an experienced interim Payroll Manager for an initial 4 week fixed term contract with the potential to extend based on operational needs. This role requires an immediate start.
Role Overview: As the Payroll Manager at Bendon, you will play a critical role in managing end-to-end payroll processes for both New Zealand and Australia. You will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in payroll operations while supporting our teams across both regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: Process NZ weekly/monthly and AU fortnightly payrolls, including new starters, contract changes, terminations, and time/attendance.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll activity complies with NZ and AU legal and tax requirements, including IRD and ATO obligations.
- Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely payroll reports for HR, GMs, and the leadership team; support Finance with budgeting and audits.
- Finance Integration: Post monthly payroll journals, manage PAYE, PAYG, payroll tax, and superannuation payments, and reconcile payroll data.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end payroll processes for NZ and AU.
- Comprehensive knowledge of AU and NZ legislation related to payroll.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., Ready Workforce) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
- Experience in a retail or multi-site environment is advantageous.
