Payroll Specialist (fixed-term or Contractor)

Waimakariri District Council
Waimakariri District

Are you a strategic payroll leader who thrives on precision, technical leadership, and process improvement? The Waimakariri District Council has an opportunity for a Payroll Specialist to join us fixed-term to provide additional resource to our existing Team and ensure seamless integration between payroll and people operations across our organisation.

About the Role

As our Payroll Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of payroll across the Waimakariri District Council. You'll provide expert advice and guidance in regards to Payroll legislation and compliance, champion digital transformation, and work closely with the existing Payroll and HR Team to deliver exceptional experiences for our people. You'll be confident in all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and reporting, while also driving continuous improvement in systems and processes. From managing legislative changes and audit requirements to supporting the implementation of new technology, your work will directly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our Team. You'll also be a key person supporting the implementation of our new Payroll System - configuring workflows, optimising systems, and ensuring our payroll platforms are future-ready.

What You'll Bring

We are seeking somebody to join us fixed-term until the end of the year or would be open to contracting options. Please feel free to reach out to Lara for a confidential chat: [email protected]
