Do you have a knack for planning and delivering exceptional experiences?
Tauranga City Council is looking for a Senior Event Delivery Coordinator on a fixed-term 12-month contract to deliver operationally sound and meaningful experiences for our community.
In this role within our small (but mighty) Event Delivery team you’ll take the lead on some of our popular community events and support our Event Delivery Lead to help bring to life major civic and community events.
This is your chance to play a key role in shaping vibrant, inclusive events that bring our community together and celebrate what makes Tauranga a great place to live.
This role includes:
1. Ownership, development and delivery of a portfolio of council-led community events.
2. Supporting the delivery of key civic events
3. Delivery of event industry capability sessions
4. Support the delivery of leverage/host city events and activations

Ngā Pukenga | What you’ll need to succeed
To stand out, you’ll bring:
- A genuine passion for events and a drive to craft unforgettable experiences for our community
- A proactive attitude and the ability to jump right in and make things happen
- A qualification in event or project management (degree or diploma level), or equivalent hands-on industry experience
- 4–5 years of proven success in coordinating and delivering events
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects
- Experience working with and a good understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders
- A full, clean driver’s licence
