Job Description

This newly created role is part of our new Property team supporting the effective delivery of property projects across our communities nationwide. This is an exciting time to join us, with a rare opportunity to make the role your own, as part of an experienced team.
You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end management of property development, remediation and capital works/infrastructure projects across our community portfolio. You’ll ensure that projects are well set up, monitored and managed so they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality and compliance standards.
You’ll report to the new Head of Property and Assets and collaborate with other teams across Arvida whilst being based at our Support Office in either Auckland CBD or Christchurch with the ability to work flexibly with one or two days from home a week. As our property portfolio is nationwide, there will be a requirement to travel around New Zealand from time to time.

You are a delivery-focused Project Manager with proven experience in managing multiple projects at pace. In addition, you will also bring:
- Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in managing property, construction or capital works projects in large, complex organisations – ideally in health care or similar.
- Strong working knowledge of NZ building legislation, maintenance planning and compliance obligations.
- A strategic thinker, with strong operational focus discipline to ensure effective implementation, risk management and delivery.
- Proven experience in delivering projects within budget, scope and time constraints.
- Clear ability to manage multiple and concurrent projects effectively.
- Proven ability in risk identification and mitigation.
- Strong financial/commercial acumen.
- Strong analytical, budgeting and reporting skills.
- Excellent communicator; with exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills; strong ability to influence at all levels.
- Skilled collaborator; able to build and maintain effective working relationships across a diverse range of internal and external stakeholder groups.
- Tertiary qualified in Project Management in construction, property, engineering or a related field.
- Experienced in using recognised project management methodologies.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools – experience with Procore is desirable.
