Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
Bringing your Corporate Banking, Property Finance or Transactional Banking experience in this role you'll be responsible for providing business expertise, advice, consultancy, co-ordination and orchestrate connection to C&IB colleagues and customers as the C&IB business partner responsible for operational risk management. You will also be identifying improvement and productivity enablement opportunities.

What are some day to day tasks the person in this role will complete?
- Provide insight and guidance to assist the business streamline and improve operational effectiveness within the guardrails of the risk and compliance frameworks.
- Be a leader and advocate for Risk Management by consulting, advising, educating, raising awareness, enhancing understanding and facilitating problem solving.
- As a data led function, facilitation of senior and executive level dashboards reporting on performance of key objectives and related measures of success that align with achievement of the business strategy.
What attributes will this person have in order to be successful?
This is a great opportunity for an Associate, Senior Associate or similar within or outside BNZ to step up into C&IB. This business and risk enablement role has shared Portfolio responsibility for Institutional Banking, Specialised Solutions and Business Segments (Corporate, Property Finance and Corporate Agri). We are looking for:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Accuracy and attention to detail with a "right first time" mindsight.
- Open minded and curious, with an ability to look for change and then follow through and implement the changes.
- Sound understanding of financial products within the C&IB sphere.
What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity?
Collaborating across all C&IB and the wider BNZ. Exposure to the C&IB customer set and their needs whilst supporting the delivery of customer outcomes. Drive a culture of control awareness and ownership through upskilling and educating the business. Proactive engagement with wider BNZ first and second-line teams, audit and business owners to identify “best in class” processes, enable alignment of practices and to ensure business unit risk outcomes align to wider BNZ requirements.
