About the role | Ko te mahi nei
This is a new permanent role to reflect the retaining Waters activities inhouse. In this role, you will work closely with your Finance Business Partner and Advisor colleagues and have responsibility for supporting the Three Waters business unit within Council. You'll be involved with planning, forecasting, reporting and advisory functions and support the business as the Local Water Done Well reforms are put in place. You will be creative and innovative when it comes to tailoring reports to the needs of the business and form valuable relationships along the way.

We would like to hear from candidates who are confident clear communicators and willing to learn the organisational structure and our complex business to enable you to provide financial accounting information, analysis and advice.
You will be a true accounting professional and have proven practical experience in management accountant, budgeting and variance analysis commentary and reporting monthly and annual financial results.
You love to learn new systems and can demonstrate your skills using tools such as Power BI, Excel and ERP accounting applications, like SAP.
You'll have a strong understanding and experience of Three Waters, as well Local Water Done Well Reforms.

- Hours of work - 37.5-40 hours per week
- Position - Fulltime, permanent
- Location - This position is primarily based at Te Hononga, Christchurch City Council Civic Offices - 53 Hereford Street
- Salary - The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
